About Dennis

What’s your style? I define my style as photojournalistic infused with fine art. I document and tell the story of your wedding experience and also the things you miss while you are getting ready and preparing for the ceremony. I want the final product to be pure, classic, timeless, and loved for decades to come.

What do you do in your free time? If I’m not shooting a wedding, meeting with my awesome clients, designing albums, or editing photos, I’ll likely be light painting. Light painting is a form of long exposure photography which uses the movement of light to create surreal images. I have a web site and a blog dedicated to this art form. www.denniscalvert.net

It was such a pleasure to work with Dennis. At the start of the day he impressed me by showing up early. Our pictures truly turned out amazing and I could not have asked for anything better. I have been recommending Dennis to people, I think it was one of the best choices I made for our wedding!!

Dennis listened to what I wanted and he did the rest. He is completely professional and is a wonderful person to be around and to work with. Dennis, is an artist with a camera. He is creative and has a fine attention to detail. He has such a laid back approach making you feel comfortable in front of the camera and it really shows in the pictures. He made that part of the day a breeze. My wedding photography turned out great! He has a real passion and knowledge for his work. Thank you, Dennis!

We love the pictures! Thank you so much for everything. They are so beautiful, and you captured so many details that I would have missed otherwise. Thank you!

How many images do you deliver from a wedding? Generally between 500-800. There are several variables such as the length of the event.

What is a print release? It grants you the right to print and reproduce the images delivered from your wedding. A print release is always included with my wedding coverage.

What do you wear? Either a suit or black pants and shirt.

What kind of gear do you use? My primary camera body is a Canon 5D mkIII (currently one of the best on the market) and my secondary body is a Canon 7D. I use Professional L series lenses and some EF primes.

Are you insured? Yes.

Do you shoot the wedding? Yes. I am the primary photographer for every wedding I book.

Engagement Shoot FAQs

What should we wear? Patterns on clothing can be a little distracting. Solid colors are generally more flattering and look the best. Also, tennis shoes can dominate a photo so I would suggest wearing something other than sneakers. In the end, wear what ever makes you feel comfortable and expresses the true you. You are more than welcome to bring alternate outfits to shoot as well.

Where should we have the photos made? Consider some locations that are special to you and your fiance. If you are having trouble thinking of the perfect location, I’m happy to make some suggestions.

What time of day is best? Usually about an hour and a half or so before sun set is the best time to start. The light then is beautiful and flattering.
